Italy is still a country full of bigots and racists.

Since I have left Italy I am happier and happier with my choice. Why?

The superpower of Vatican

I have noticed recently that in this country people are like stacked in the past and can not improve their problem with racism and bigotry.

The Vatican is still there with its Pope, Bishops and followers spreading its doctrine full of superstitions and prejudices. Every new creative idea will always be judged by the Vatican before being approved!

The political corruption maybe is a bit less than in the years of Berlusconi and his Bunga Bunga parties with young girls but mafia and racism are still strong.

Racism in the cultural world.

I am an artist and now trying hard to become a fashion designer thanks to my artistic side.

Because of this, I have noticed recently on some FB profiles how people can be nasty in the fashion world if a model does not respect the standard canons of beauty.

Italian fashion connected to Racism?

In Italy, many stylists are scared to use a black or Asian model for their campaign because people could not buy their clothes.

Racism behind football?

And how many football players have been offended during a match because of the colour of their skin?

Bigots in the artistic world of drawing classes?

If you say to be a life model and working nude for your artists you are seen as a prostitute.

Livorno and its shame with its statue symbol.

And Livorno ? My hometown famous for Amedeo Modigliani and Mascagni ?

Well …It happens that a clear Racist statue called I Quattro Mori is still now the symbol of the city … and nobody of the council cares if it is at the exit of a touristic harbour where thousands of people coming from everywhere in the world can still see.

I am sure in other countries was already removed and hidden in some museum … but this is not happening in Livorno.

Someone tries to justify the statue saying the white man standing on the 3 Asians and the Black guy in the chain was not connected with the British slavery … but anyway it is quite offensive for what is happening nowadays in our modern world, or no?

Why I should marry a black or Asian man?

I still remember last December when a man asked me if I could marry in the UK a black or Asian man! What a prehistoric thought is, full of nastiness and racism!

Vintage Italian Films are full of racist words!

Recently thanks to youtube I can watch some Italian vintage films with the famous actor Alberto Sordi and in some of them, there are still some words full of racism …no filmmakers who are presenting these films around thought to cut or censure those words.

Italy is really a nice place to visit but no nice to live if you want to be an artist with a free spirit.

People are always ready to criticize other people if their are not bigots or going to the church on Sunday mornings…and still now, especially in small towns or villages, some people get their jobs if they do an offer to their bishop!

In conclusion, many people with ambitions and an open mind are leaving the country for a more creative life working with people from everywhere in the world and I am happy to be one of them.
